June 2008: Ingrid Lopez of Holiday Inn Express Metrotown

While visiting Vancouver I wanted to find my grandfather’s grave site. Armed with what little information I had, I approached the Travel Info kiosk in Metrotown Mall. Unfortunately, it was closed and so the only place I could think of approaching was the front desk of our hotel (Holiday Inn Express Metrotown). Fortunately for me, Ingrid Lopez was on the front desk. She listened while I explained my situation and I told her about the little clues I did have.

Ingrid had a lot of ideas and immediately got on the phone to investigate. She Googled road maps and printed them for us. We are from Kelowna and driving unfamiliar territory (Burnaby to Port Coquitlam) was a little daunting. Thanks to Ingrid and all her kindness I did find where my grandfather is buried and my children now know where their great grandfather is buried. We could have never done it without Ingrid and I will never forget what she has done for myself and my family.

Ingrid went well, well beyond the call of duty. She showed how caring and compassionate she is, to us, total strangers. For this, my husband and I feel very strongly that Ingrid Lopez should be recognized for her excellent service.
