My mother is in a wheelchair and we often find access very frustrating but Dung made our day anything but on Tuesday April 28th. He was washing down the deck and cleaning the area outside Café Pacifica at the Pan Pacific Hotel and apologized for being in our way but took time to point out the ramp and an easy access door to re-enter, offered to take our picture, held up the hose for us to easily wheel under, all the while smiling and chatting about the beautiful scenery and weather. When we were read to re-enter the hotel for lunch, we saw Dung dash through the door he had earlier pointed out to us and we thought he was going to hold the door for us but he went in and the door shut behind him. But then, as we neared the door, it opened, and Dung came out to tell us he’d gone in to move the chairs inside so we could get through and then he held the door for us as a true ambassador for his hotel and his city. We were so impressed and very moved. If only we could find a Dung everywhere we went. He made a beautiful day an extraordinary one and we hope he can get the recognition he deserves.
