I checked with a front desk clerk concering the Beauty Salon, located near their lobby.  This shop was not affiliated with the hotel, but located on thier ground floor.  I had gone to the salon and it was closed.  He said it might be open on Monday.  I tried again on Monday and still not open.  Same on Tuesday morning.  by this time I was getting desperate as I had been travelling by train and needed to have my hair done.

As our train was leaving Vancouver on Tuesday night time was running out.  This is where Ms. McRae stepped in.  She spent the next 45 minutes trying to find me an appointment somewhere not too far away (I walk with a cane and cannot walk any great distance).  At one point Ms. McRae actually left the hotel to walk to a salon to see if they were open.  Finally, about 10:40, Ms. McRae told me she had found a salon that could take me at 11:00.  She had made arrangements for the hotel shuttle to take me.  What a relief to know I would finaly have my hair done after 11 days.  This would have not been possible if Ms. McRae had not spent her time to locate a hairdresser for me.  When I asked for her business card I noticed she was the Reservations Manager.  She had taken time away from her job to help me.  You think getting an appointment at a Beauty Salon is not a big deal.  I am 84 years old and have not done my own hair in over 60 years.

In addition, check out time was 11:00, and our shuttle to the train was not until 5:30.  When Ms. McRae realized this, she told us to go to the third floor where we would be more comfortable than in the lobby.  Amazing lady.
