My reason for coming to Vancouver was to attend a family wedding. I drove from Edmonton to Vancouver, about a 16 hour drive, with my kids. Not well-acquainted with Vancouver, I managed to lose my sense of direction. I was looking for the Four Seasons Hotel, where the wedding and our accommodations were set, for almost an hour. Feeling filled with frustration and dissatisfaction with all the one way and closed streets I came to your (our) hotel, The Holiday Inn, to ask for directions.

I was completely exhausted from all the driving and worried about the time for the wedding. I went into your hotel to look for maps at the side of your gift shop and out of nowhere Maria approached me with a map and a pen. She asked me if I was lost and if she could help me. I was astonished by her approach and she was very helpful. Maria asked me to sit and offered me an iced tea. I was very surprised and amazed at how nice she was. She treated me like a friend. Because of Maria I will stay at Holiday Inns. I have not had this kindness from a hotel…and I was not even your guest. Please tell her thank you..
