March 2008: Paul Britton of Hotel Le Soleil

I want to take the opportunity to recognize the outstanding client service we received from Paul Britton, at the front desk Hotel Le Soleil during our visit to Vancouver.

Paul greeted us upon our arrival at the hotel and went above and beyond from that point on until the end of our stay. I travel a lot for work, but rarely, if ever, encounter the high level of superior client service we received from Paul.

When we arrived Paul immediately gave us directions to a nearby sushi restaurant, inquired about subsequent reservations we wanted to make later in the trip and by the time we returned from dinner had printed out information about sea planes (and tried to reserve a space for us but the office was closed), an activity we mentioned in passing.

When the restaurant we wanted to go to was closed for a private event, Paul not only suggested other restaurants but printed out the menus, delivered them to our room and made the reservation. It isn’t often that you walk into the lobby of your hotel and comment, “We hope Paul is working!” – that happened more than once during our short stay!

While the hotel met expectations, the part of our trip that stood out was the level of client service that we received from Paul, which far exceeded expectations.

Paul is a competitive advantage that Hotel Le Soleil has and I hope that the Vancouver Tourism department recognizes him for this.
