July 2007: Julie Wells of Bridges Restaurant

To Whom It May Concern,

On Saturday, July 7, 2007, my husband, two friends and I had lunch at Bridges Restaurant at Granville Island. Our waitress, a cute blonde woman with glasses named Julie, “Jules”, was very accommodating. We certainly enjoyed a lovely lunch during which she never missed a beat to fulfill our every whim.

Since we had been shopping prior to lunch, we had packages with us. After lunch, we left the restaurant to continue shopping around Granville Island. In a state of distress, I noticed my package was missing. In tears, I raced back to Bridges to see if it was still on the floor next to our table. It was not. Jules tried her best to help me find it in the restaurant. Without success, she took my name and where I was staying incase they turned up later.

When I arrived back at my hotel, there was a message from the concierge saying there was a package for me and it will be delivered up to my room. Much to my surprise, it was a very nice bottle of white wine in a bag with a note from Jules. She said she was, “very sorry I lost my package and she wanted me to know that all Vancouverites were not all bad.” She continued to say that she hoped we had a safe trip home and would come back again.

I would like to say that her gesture made a serious impression on me. That she would take the time and effort, not to mention the cost of the purchase and delivery a bottle of wine to my hotel, was the kindest, most sincere and genuine compliment I have ever received!!

I would like to see her efforts commended! She truly deserves some recognition for her caring attitude. She is an amazing representation of the hospitality of Vancouver. My husband, our friends and myself certainly hope to be back in Vancouver again soon. We will hope to see her again too. 

Sincerely,

Dana Pinder
