A family of three – parents and their 14-year-old daughter – traveled from San Francisco to Vancouver, choosing to explore the city on their own rather than with a tour group. Despite rain during most of their stay, their trip became unforgettable thanks to Bernie, whom they met at Canada Place.
 

When the family arrived late one afternoon unsure if they could still make it to Capilano Suspension Bridge for the magical Canyon Lights, Bernie kindly stepped in – helping them purchase tickets and guiding them to the shuttle in time to experience what became a highlight of their trip. The following rainy day, she once again came to their rescue, patiently explaining how to reach Grouse Mountain using the SeaBus and local bus.
 

Thanks to Bernie’s kindness, the family not only navigated the city with confidence but also experienced their first snowy, early white Christmas in Vancouver – turning their first visit into their most memorable self-guided adventure.
